Privacy Notice: what you need to know
Selectabase obtain and process personal data. Our Privacy Policy sets out how we use personal information obtained from third parties for use in our direct marketing products and services.
Data Opt-Out Request and opt-out lists
- Postal Marketing – You can opt out of postal marketing by registering with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS). This is an industry-wide service administered by the Direct Marketing Association and recognised by the Information Commissioner.
- There is a version of the MPS called the Baby Mailing Preference Service which can help reduce the number of baby-related mailings you receive. You can register at Baby MPS Online.
- Telephone Marketing (B2C / Individuals / Sole Traders) – You can opt out of domestic telemarketing activity by registering your details within the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).
- Telephone Marketing (B2B / Companies / Corporates) – You can opt out of corporate telemarketing activity by registering your details within the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS).
You may wish to request suppression directly with our marketing data list suppliers. Selectabase respect the key transparency requirements under GDPR, and have therefore provided direct links to our suppliers, who each have their own suppression procedures.
- Where you have received consumer postal marketing – Experian Consumer
- Where you have received business postal, telephone or email marketing – Experian Business
When we’re asked to prevent your personal data from being used for direct marketing, your details are added to the Selectabase marketing suppression file. Data being used for the purpose of direct marketing will be screened against our file, ensuring your details are never passed on to any of our clients.
We must continue to process your personal data on a suppression file, retaining only the minimum information needed to identify you, to ensure your wishes are respected and maintained: this enables us to prevent further processing should your personal data come into Selectabase from a different source.

In line with our Privacy Policy you are entitled to ask Selectabase Ltd if data about you is being processed and, if you wish:
- to access your personal data and to receive information about its use
- to have your personal data corrected and/or completed
- to have your personal data deleted
- to restrict the use of your personal data
- to receive your personal data in a portable format
- to object to the use of your personal data
- to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data (where we process your personal data on the basis of your consent)
- to complain to a supervisory authority
